I got a tutor really last minute for my paper, although it was super late they spend time to edit and comment on my entire paper carefully. The comments and edits helped me change my paper a lot and I appreciate how they kindly did all of these in few hours.
Only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because I had to switch tutors multiple times. I preferred to have had 1 tutor throughout all my sessions which is what I was told would happen but there were times where my tutor had an exam or something come up and had to reschedule with me. Luckily Notes and tutors has great customer service and they got me another tutor last minute. If it were for that their tutors do a great job helping me understand calc 1 and I ultimately got an A.
Pretty much what everyone's been writing so far - rate is a bit higher than I would like but the service is outstanding. I get a tutor whenever I need and if I don't see a time slot or tutor available I juts reach out to them on facebook or their contact form and they get back right away with a solution. They also have a bunch of free stuff on their website like notes and past exams. It's easy to find since it's just for Rutgers classes. Looking back, I feel the 40/hr is worth it. I get a tutor whenever I need, I get plenty of free study materials on their website and the cost helps keep them running which I don't mind contributing to.
Needed a Matlab 2 and PEE 2 tutor which are pretty hard to find on campus since the learning center doesn't have anyone that tutor these upper level courses. A friend told me he had a good experience here so I tried it out and it worked out well. They're easy to work with, quick, and I did better on my next exam.
the service here is great! there were times were my tutor could not meet me at my requested time and location and their customer service person was able to quickly find one of their tutors who could accommodate me last minute. The tutor came prepared on topics I wanted to cover and I learned more from this session than 1 lecture. These guys gotcha back fo sure
Their expos tutoring is probably the best tutoring on campus. I mean of course you have to pay 40/revision but if it gets you a B or an A with less effort having to put into the papers I would definitely take that. They go through every sentence you write and even rewrite some of it for you which to me is so much better than someone just telling you what you should do. They fix the sentence and then explain why they did so which helps me learn. I tried the leaarning center and all they did was give me suggestions. Highly recommend their tutoring
Had an online expos session with Ryan and he did a great job! My entire paper was filled with edits and he even rewrote a few topic sentences for me to make my paper more coherent to follow my thesis. He texted me while he edited my paper whenever he needed a better understanding of what I wanted to say and I can say he really did care about helping me do well. Overall, I got a B+ on my first paper which is great and I will definitely come back again
Had a great calc tutor in Manvi who really helped me understand the concept in a more relatable way. Would recommend her and Lisa who I happened to have for 1 session.
Had a very good experience with my calc tutor Kevin last year. Unfortunately I believe he graduated last year. But I'm sure their other calc tutors are just as good as I've had good experiences with them all so far. Notes & Tutors allows you a free first session to see if you work well with your tutor, which I like. Just be sure to ask them about it as it's not an option on their booking site.
Like the previous reviews here, everything they've said is pretty much on point. Notes & Tutors does a great job accommodating to your schedule and you can easily find another tutor in case your primary tutor is unavailable on a certain day. I like how they really put so much effort into making sure I actually learn what i need to learn for the exam and they are always asking for feedback to make sure they improve each time.
For a class like Linear Algebra and Data Structures it can be hard to find a tutor for on campus. So after hearing about this on the Rutgers facebook group I decided to give it a try and everything worked out really well. I was able to get a tutor before each midterm and my final to solidify my weak points and personally I felt it paid off. I ended up doing well on my midterms and finals. I give them 5 stars, but the slight downside is the price. However, they are great though in customer service and will basically guarantee you a tutor whenever you need one.
I originally was just going to get 1 session to help me prepare for my orgo calc midterm, but I ended up coming back for more sessions afterwards. I was able to get the price slightly lower after talking to Ryan through email. My tutor was available to me pretty much whenever I wanted and gave me tricks to recognize and solve certain problems.
I went with the unlimited expos service since I really needed to bring up my grade after 2 NPs. I was really surprised as to how quick Ryan got back to me with revisions and from there we revised my paper at least 5 times over email. I liked how convenient it was for me to send my paper in online instead of meeting an in person tutor based on hourly sessions. The reason for the 4 stars instead of a 5 is that it is slightly pricey, but I did get a B+ so I would say it was worth it.
Decided to go for full semester tutoring with Notes & Tutors since they offered great flexibility and their help service were always so accomodating to my schedule. They would even find replacement tutors for me when my personal one had to unexpectedly cancel last minute. I feel the level of care their tutors put in is more than the ones I've experienced at the learning center. For the effort these tutors put in and how flexible they are to your scheduling is reflected in the slightly higher prices you would see than the free lance tutors you would find around campus. I would recommend Notes & Tutors if you were to ask me
My orgo tutor was very professional and was never late to any of our scheduled appointments. He was very flexible with his schedule to accommodate my availability. Our sessions often went over the 1 hr, which I really appreciated. I could tell he came prepared and when he didn't know an answer he would tell me, but would text me a few hours later with a solution. Thanks for the help
My tutor was very nice, professional, and helpful. Very open to accomdating to my schedule and useful. Each of my tutors put the time to help me understand and know the material!
My tutor was extremely helpful and had flexible hours. After a not so great score on the first exam in Calc 1, my tutor helped me score very high on the following exam and the final. She had a good understanding of the material and was able to clear up the topics I didn't understand, I would definitely recommend Notes and Tutors to anyone in the future
My tutor was very helpful and her meeting times were flexible and fit my schedule. I also saw vast improvement in my exam scores! Definitely recommend the tutors here
I had a great experience with Notes and Tutors, my tutor covered everything I needed and was very helpful. I immediately started understanding my topics of need and found Notes and Tutors very helpful.
Got a tutor right before finals because I was on the border line for passing Calc II. My tutor took the class before and spent 2 hours telling me what to expect on the final. I ended up passing with an 88 on my final. Not much else to say – their customer service is great, they respond fast and they did as much as they could to accommodate to my 18 credit schedule.
I had two different tutors for two separate classes. They both did an excellent job in using my feedback to create individualized, flexible lesson plans -- this ensured that no time was wasted and I got the most out of it that I could.
